What chimneys need, we do

Chimney repair and repointing, brick masonry in the South Carolina lowcountry

Repairs & repointing

Crumbling mortar joints are how a chimney starts to die, and the lowcountry's salt air speeds it up. We grind out the failing mortar and repoint it fresh, matched to your existing brick, so the stack is solid for decades instead of seasons.

Cap & crown work · photo slot

Caps, crowns & waterproofing

The top of the chimney takes the worst of every storm. A cracked crown or a missing cap lets water straight down into the masonry, and by the time you see the damage inside, it's been working for years. We rebuild crowns, fit proper caps, and seal the stack against the rain.

Flashing detail · photo slot

Flashing & the leak nobody can find

Here's a secret from the roof side of our business: half the "chimney leaks" we see are actually flashing failures where the roof meets the brick. Since we do both trades, you get one crew that solves the whole joint instead of a mason and a roofer pointing at each other. If your ceiling stains near the fireplace, start here.

Chimney rebuild and custom brick masonry by Integrity Exterior Solutions

Rebuilds & custom masonry

When a chimney is past saving, we take it down and build it back right, straight or twisted, your call. And the same hands do custom brickwork beyond the chimney: columns, steps, and the details that make a house feel built rather than assembled.

Worth Knowing

Why lowcountry chimneys fail early

Coastal chimneys age differently than the ones inland, and knowing why helps you catch it before the repair becomes a rebuild.

Salt air eats mortar

The same coastal air that rusts your porch hinges works on mortar joints year round, drawing moisture in and crumbling them from the inside out.

Sideways rain

Lowcountry storms don't fall politely from above. Wind-driven rain hits the stack broadside, and every hairline crack becomes a doorway.

Soft, shifting soil

Our soil moves with the seasons, and a settling foundation shows up first in the heaviest, most rigid thing on the house: the chimney.

Failed flashing

Where roof meets brick is the hardest joint on the whole house to seal, and it's the first place water wins when the flashing was done cheap.

The Signature

The twisted chimney

Every mason can stack brick straight. Ours rotates the courses as they rise, so the whole stack turns like it's been wrung gently by hand, one clean twist of masonry standing against the sky. It's the detail in our logo, and it's real.

We build it because it proves something no ad can: that the hands working on your home can do things most hands can't. If a crew can turn a chimney, your repointing, your rebuild, and your flashing are easy mornings.

And yes, if you want one on your house, we'll build you one.

Straight Answers

Chimney questions, answered plainly

Water is staining the ceiling near my fireplace. Is it the chimney or the roof?

Could be either, and that's exactly why we're useful: we do both trades. Often it's the flashing where the roof meets the brick, sometimes it's a cracked crown or failing mortar letting water down through the stack. We'll find the actual source, show you photos of it, and fix the real problem instead of the convenient one.

What is repointing, and how do I know if my chimney needs it?

Repointing is grinding out failing mortar joints and packing them fresh. Look at your mortar lines: if they're cracked, recessed, sandy to the touch, or pieces are missing, the chimney is asking for it. Caught early it's a modest repair, ignored it becomes loose brick and eventually a rebuild.

How much does chimney repair cost?

It ranges honestly, from small repointing and cap jobs to full rebuilds, and the spread is wide enough that a number without a look would be a guess dressed up as a quote. What we promise is the same as every trade we do: a written number before work starts, and it doesn't move.

Can you match my existing brick?

That's the difference between a repair and a scar, and yes, matching brick and mortar color is part of doing this right. On older homes with discontinued brick we'll source the closest match and blend the pointing so the repair disappears into the wall.

Can you really build a twisted chimney on my house?

We can, and we'd love to. It's a genuine piece of custom masonry, priced as one, and it turns your chimney into the thing the whole street mentions. Ask us about it when we come look, and we'll show you ours.

Do you clean chimneys or inspect flues?

Our work is the masonry and the weatherproofing: brick, mortar, crowns, caps, and flashing. Ask us about the inside of the flue when we talk, and if it needs a service we don't carry, we'll point you to someone good rather than pretend.
